Important Notice Regarding Insurance and Billing
At Advanced Pelvic Surgery and Urogynecology of Charlotte, our mission is to provide exceptional, individualized care using advanced techniques and cutting-edge treatments. We specialize in addressing complex conditions and offering highly personalized surgical solutions that prioritize your unique needs.
We are out of network with all health insurance plans. This does not mean we are a “self-pay” practice or that your care will not be reimbursed. Instead, because you are not seeing a physician within your insurance network, your treatment will fall under your out-of-network benefits, which may involve different levels of coverage.
A Unique Surgical Practice
Our practice is distinct in that we provide both medical and aesthetic surgical procedures:
- Medical Procedures: Many of our medical procedures may be reimbursed by your insurance company, depending on your specific plan and coverage.
- Aesthetic Procedures: Some of our treatments are considered aesthetic or elective in nature and are therefore not covered by insurance. These procedures will be billed directly to you.
By remaining out-of-network, we maintain the ability to offer innovative, customized care without being restricted by insurance-imposed limitations. This ensures we can allocate the time, expertise, and resources necessary to deliver the highest quality outcomes for all patients.
We work with Patient Financing companies to offer affordable financing options for our patients.
Why Are We Out-of-Network?
Many of the advanced and highly specialized procedures we perform may not yet be fully recognized or understood by insurance companies. Operating out-of-network allows us to focus on providing comprehensive and innovative care tailored to your specific needs rather than conforming to the rigid protocols of insurance companies.
What This Means for You
We do not bill insurance companies directly. However, we will provide you with a detailed, itemized bill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
What to Expect
- Cost Estimates: Before any treatment, our team will provide you with a clear estimate of out-of-pocket costs for professional services based on your specific care plan. Factors such as whether the procedure is medical or aesthetic, the complexity of your treatment, and your insurance coverage will all be considered.

Insurance Guidance: While we do not file claims on your behalf, we support you by:
- Helping you understand your out-of-network benefits and coverage.
- Providing all the necessary documentation for submitting claims to your insurance company.
- Offering guidance on the reimbursement process.
- Facility and Anesthesiologist Billing: Please note that facility and anesthesiologist services are billed separately. These providers are often in-network with most major health plans, and their billing teams will work with you to verify coverage and costs
